May Bell Premier Banjo Ukulele, Liberty/Slingerland, 1920s, EC, W/hsc. The finish and plating are in excellent condition, the finish being some of the best I’ve seen on a vintage instrument. This model was originally produced by Liberty before 1927 and continued using Liberty stock after purchase by Slingerland. This high end market banjo ukulele sold for at a time when the average monthly wage was about (Lardy’s Ukulele Database site). It features an amazing peg head veneer, walnut construction, pearl inlays, wood inlayed resonator and an 15 1/4” scale ebony fretboard measuring 1 3/16” width at nut. The hard shell case, though not original is fine for shipping and though not a great fit, completely functional. Watch for an upcoming video tour.
